Every one of us has a box somewhere in our house with a bunch of family photos, some even older than us. How the photos should look; what is an absolute 'yes' and what would be an absolute 'no' for each of you; what should you wear - these are just a few questions you should discuss with your family before the big day. You can look up different family photo sessions on the internet or ask your photographer to show you some of their previous work for inspiration and to see the different styles in which these photos could look like. Take these images as a starting point, but don't be afraid to show your family's uniqueness.

The big day

Please fasten your seat belts and prepare for…just kidding, there’s no need for worries, but it's good to make sure you check a few things before you leave the house on the big day of the family photo shoot to avoid chaos:

• everyone has plenty of time to get ready;

• everyone is fed and well-rested;

• everyone feels good in their outfit;

• everyone knows where the photo session will take place;

• snacks on snacks on snacks;

• a change of clothes for the kiddos, but even for yourself (you never know when you spill something on your perfect outfit);

• lots of fun
